days 40 through 50- family visit, school board meeting, crafting

Day 40 was a mighty interesting day. I had been invited to a school board meeting to be recognized for my purchase award. I had been looking forward to it for weeks, and it started at 6:00. I got home that day from shopping with my family and thought I had a lot of time until I had to be there. I lollygagged around, took a shower, and was about to put on make-up when I looked at my phone. It was 5 minutes til 6:00. Um, WHAT?! I raced downstairs and asked my mom why in the world she didn't tell me I was going to be late. She said that she thought I knew. I didn't have time to be the bad daughter that I am and yell at her, so I rushed out the door. I drove like a maniac, and surprisingly I only got flipped off once! I got there in less than 15 minutes and I pulled in right in front of the building. Jon was waiting there so he could park it and I ran in. I made it with 5 minutes to spare. They called me up and someone read my very fluffy description of my photo in which I used an adjective every other word. The school board members were very impressed with it... Each of them talked about what they liked about the photo, it was very nice.

That day my family came in from Alaska to spend some time with us for 10 days. It was such a fun time!

We went to the beach that night.

Katie and I both saw a shark in the water that was about 10 feet away from this kid, so we screamed "SHARK!!!!1!!1!!!" but he didn't hear us. I ran over to who I assumed was his dad and told him there was a shark in the water and he wasn't even alarmed. He said that he was at the beach the day before and that he had seen a dolphin so that was probably what it was. At that point I was like whatever, not my problem anymore. Regardless, we still had fun.

The next day I hung out with Ali, Sam, and Hunter and we had ourselves a craft day. We drove to Joannes and we picked out a tie dye kit. We saved a bunch of money because I had a 30% off coupon for college students. [I like using it because I get to show off my UF ID card.] We tie dyed some bags.

A few days later I went with my family to Dubois Park. It was so cute! I felt like I was back in the 1950s [where I really belong].

Sadly, no dogs were allowed, so my mom had to go take Maddy home.

Me and my cousin Katie :) I look so tan next to her...

Looking pretty darn cool in our goggles.

Later that day Sam and I went on a "date" at Olive Garden. We both had macaroni and cheese.

Cheesing it up [get it?]

I drew a portrait of Sam. It's going to hang in the MoMa, wait and see.

Afterwards we went and saw Harry Potter together. Twas amazing, obviously.

We got ice cream at McDonald's afterwards.

Lately I've been making quite a few shrinky dinks, check out my awesome Harry Potter necklace!

I added some more charms, all representing my various British obsessions [Harry Potter and Doctor Who].

On Wednesday we went out to lunch for my cousin Katie's birthday.

Katie was cold so my mom make-shifted a blanket out of napkins.

Andrew didn't want me to take his photo...

but eventually he obliged.

The waiters brought her ice cream and sang happy birthday.

Cousins :)

That week we had VBS at church. This night was "Crazy Hair Night". I sported a fro-hawk.

I added some feathers for a nice touch.

On the way home we stopped for gas- I want this car, please.

We had some good family bonding time, as you can see.

On their last day in Florida we stopped at Chick-fil-A for lunch because they don't have any in Alaska.

It was hard saying goodbye, but we will cherish the memories!

The next day Sam invited me to go to the mall in Wellington with her and her parents. We had a ball. Just look at us- we scream cool.

On Saturday I went and saw "Cowboys and Aliens" with Jon and Robbie [it was dreadful]. We had to document our matchingness- mine and Robbie's pants matched and the boys' shirt matched. Robbie is showing off his new iPod on his pocket, which also matched my head band!

We went to Kilwin's afterwards and got some treats [courtesy of Robbie because he works there ;)] They were delish, thanks man!

Well, this is my last post guys. It's been real, thanks to everyone who actually read it. I might start a new one for college, who knows ;)

days 35 & 39- deathly hallows 2 premiere/ joy ride

Where do I start? The film that marked the end of my childhood. Well, here it goes. I loved it. Of course there were a lot of things they could've done better, but I think what they did do was done very well. And that's enough of me trying to be a film critic... Here are my photos of that night.

I knew that I wanted to dress up because this was my first midnight premiere and I wanted to go all out. I decided to be Dolores Jane Umbridge because I figured I resembled her the most, with my hair and whatnot.

I made my own wand out of a piece of wood [a dowel, if you will] and some clay.

Needless to say, it turned out looking like a turd.

I went over to my neighbor Max's house for his Harry Potter Party. It was super fun!

Katie was  my partner for Harry Potter trivia. I'm pretty sure we would have won if they'd actually totalled up the scores... ;)

Wooh neighbors!

I won "best costume" so I won a real Harry Potter wand! I love it so much and I want to take it everywhere with me.

My amazing friend Laura dressed up as Professor Trelawney. I'd say she was pretty convincing!

We went to Kilwin's to pick up Robbie.

Finally at the theater! We didn't have to wait at all.

We had a death eater among us...

I ran into Kady! [& Ian and Mike] and I wrote "I must not tell lies" on their hands hehehe.

Some hard core Harry Potter fans hung some super cool signs.

I got home that night and cracked open Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and I realized that Harry Potter will never be over. He will forever live in our hearts [or as Neville pointed out in the movie, our stomachs].

Okay, so I'm being lazy and skipping days 36- 38, but they were boring anyways. It's a bit hard to follow up the last Harry Potter Premiere ever. So, day 39. My mom was at Starbucks working on our church website in the morning and people were cleaning at our house, so I had to be on doggy duty. I went for a drive. My goal was to go somewhere I'd never been before, and I definitely succeeded. I ended up all the way in Fort Pierce.

My little crooked- nosed lady <3

The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and there were lovely old- fashioned houses all along the way. [Please excuse the awful photos, I was driving...]

At last, I arrived in Fort Pierce. It was like a rundown Downtown Stuart.

Ahhh I love when Maddy does this.

Cliche converse photo for the win.

Yummm, dead fish on a bench.

Maddy was tired after a long day...
